Hi cuties I am finally back after such a long break, I am still working on cosplay and stuff just haven't had the time to write here! Follow me on Instagram for more updates (dreamii.bunni) As you all know I play Overwatch a lot and I am in love with that game. So I decided I'm gonna cosplay as D.va!SO first step was figuring out her gun on a budget I remember my brother having a Nerf gun that almost looked Identical to hers and so I asked him for it... I told him your gun wont be the same after I'm done with it and he was ok with that lol. The gun I used was a Scout-IX-3 it had the perfect shape and look as her gun.
-First I sanded it up to make it rough so the primer would stick to it. Then taking the primer I did 2 coats and got a nice grey color as seen below-
After that I started gathering all the paint I needed for the gun so that included a baby pink, a green, a dark grey and a metallic color for the top.
Colors used-
Apple Barrel Colors~
Bubblegum
Spring Green
Black
White
FolkArt~
Gunmetal Gray(Metallic silver)
I first started by getting a reference photo of her gun and keeping it there at all times. Then I started painting with the pink to edge out the lines of pink and know where everything should be.
It was super time consuming waiting for coats to dry lol. I suggest getting Netflix on or watching some YouTube videos.
So after about 3 coats of pink to cover everything flawlessly. I started laying out where the gray should be. I painted the lines of gray and of course with flaw I hit the pink a few times and had to recover it with pink later T.T but avast I did end up finished with the gray after 1 and a half coats of it.

I love painting so much but this day my hands were shaky and it didn't help me at all. So after the gray is finished drying I go in to add some more color here and there and I also go to add the green she has from a LED in her gun. Now I couldn't make it glow so I just painted some green on there to make it look authentic. I am totally in love by this point. But late in the game I am adding some metallic paint on the top of my gun where it should be. I next go to clear coat my gun I had to clear coat this gun about 4 times just to make sure it was all sealed up. I used Krylon Color Master in clear Flat finish. After all the clear coats it just looks great. Then I remember.... Omg I messed up big time... I totally forgot she has D.va written on her gun but ahh don't worry I fixed the issue lol I first was planning on painting this on and I forgot like a champ. But I thought and thought about how I could do this and fix it. Lightbulb! I had just got a HP Sprocket and I was able to print out little pictures from it that are stickers! I was like omg yes I can recover from this flub. So that's what I did. I went online to find a render of the logo and boy was that hard. But I ended up finding it. But It was super big and I had to take it to paint shop pro to shrink it and send it to my ipod to print two of them out. Then I actually had to cut out these D.va logos by hand (It was so hard. But after scaring my friend to death I got it) I stuck them on after testing the clear coat on a test picture to make sure the ink wouldn't run. I then stick them where they belong and boom perfect so I then clear coat each side a few times and viola. Its perfect. I am so proud of my gun! It looks so pretty and authentic. I also made the bunny charm but that's for another post. Thanks for reading my tutorial I hope you have much luck and if you have questions leave a comment or DM me on Instagram. <3 Bye bunnies
